Where can I buy a diamond that I'm specifically looking for?

For the past few months I've been obsessed with finding the right loose diamond. The more I educate myself, the more specific my search has gotten, which has made this whole thing very complicated.

I've checked everywhere online, as much as I could, to find a diamond with my specifications, and no luck.. I've even visited quite a few of the local diamond jewelers and still no luck.

Am I going about this the wrong way? Should my mentality be to buy whatever diamond that comes closes to my specifications? Or perhaps there's a special place where I can find a diamond just the way I like it.

Long story short, I'm looking for a Practical Fine Cut (Eppler 1939) diamond. The proportions are driving me insane, but they do matter to me. Please help!

Not sure why you are looking specifically for a practical fine cut stone? Other cuts offer the same brilliance / light return as well, so it can't be that?

I can empathize with your 'obsession', but IMO, life is about compromise; yes you want the best you can have, but in reality, if you were able to find a diamond that is as close as possible to your ideal stone and compare it directly with the one that meets your criteria to the nth degree, you likely would not be able to tell the two apart anyway.

If you're in no hurry, by all means, continue your search, we would certainly love to hear how you get on.
