Diamond Clarity : Purity of the diamond

Clarity means clearness, transparency. Diamond clarity also states the same meaning; how clear and transparent is the diamond. The mistakes referred in clarity check are blemishes and inclusion.Basically blemishes and inclusion are two aspects which establish diamond clarity.

Inclusion means mistakes which are there within such as air bubbles, cracks and non-diamond materials found in the diamond.Blemishes means exterior mistake. It includes scrape, pits & chips. Some occur at the girdle through the cutting process.GIA clarity grading system is used by Diamond Exotica to ensure clarity check.
The clarity abbreviations are as follows:

* FL : It means the diamond is flawless.
* IF : it means the diamond is internally flawless.
* VVS1, VVS2 ; It means the diamond has very, very small inclusions.
* VS1, VS2 : It means the diamond have very small inclusions.
* SI1, SI2, SI3 : It means the diamond have small inclusions.
* I1, I2, I3 : It means the diamond have visible inclusions.

Thanks.....

I think your post is a little misleading.

It should be noted that when you reference visible, you are referring to visible with the naked eye.  Furthermore, SI3 stones will very likely have inclusions that are visible to the naked eye.  With SI2, so will, some won't, so when considering an SI2 stone, always remember to check whether it is eye-clean, or whether the inclusions are in a location whereby they would becone invisible after the stone was set.

Diamonds with an associated GIA certification are deemed to be have the most accurate grading applied. GIA do have a reputation for grading accuracy, so when it says a diamond is G/VS1 for example, it will be G/VS1.

So, if one chooses a GIA stone, you can be quite confident in using down to SI2 for diamonds with many facets. For Emerald cuts though, as a precaution one should probably aim for VS as the large table will allow the naked eye to pick out inclusions within the stone.
