Hi,

I am in the market for an engagement ring, antique style, and I would like your opinion about this website:

http://www.sunjewelry.com/antique-style-diamond-rings.html

I am open to any suggestions you might have.

Thank you for your time.

I can't advise on the website itself, but it certainly doesn't mention is these diamonds are certified and by whom. something you may want to consider finding out.

Thank you for your reply! I just called their Customer Service, and was told that they work with EGL. It looks like you will get a EGL report only if the center stone is at least 1 carat. Most of their diamonds come from Israel, Iran and sometimes from India.

The ring I was looking at is this:

http://www.worldjewels.com/_e/Engagement_Rings/product/e-464/1_50_Carat_Diamond_Engagement_Ring.htm

and the center stone is less than 1 carat.

I am just wondering if it is a good choice or I should just keep looking further.

Thank you for your time.

Just to clarify; Is it Sun Jewelry that works with EGL, or World Jewels?

Either way, I wouldn't personally be looking to purchase a 0.75 Ct. diamond without a lab report.

One more questions. Can you suggest other vendors that you would trust? Thank you.

We try to remain as impartial as possible, and tend not to provide specific recommendations for any particular seller/s.

If you would be able to give us an idea of your budget, and what it is you expect to be able to purchase, we will be pleased to offer advice in relation to whether your expectation is realistic / on target, as well as give you additional advice re what to look out for / request specifically from any seller you approach.

Sure, I understand. Something around $2500-$3000, and the ring should be antique style.

I like Generations 1912 collection from www.margem.com, but they do not have diamond engagement rings.

I am open to any suggestions. Thank you for your time.

You may or may not have success with this, but if you have fallen in love with a setting on the aforementioned web site, how about approaching them & asking them if they are prepared to sell you just the setting you like, without the center stone.  You could then source your desired diamond center stone elsewhere, and then have a local jeweler set the stone for you.

This may be an option worth exploring, and may ultimately get you exactly what you desire.
