Emeralds for engagement ring?

So I had a discussion with my girlfriends the other day if using emeralds for engagement ring is a good idea. I personally think not as it is somewhat fragile. 3 out of 5 girls agreed with me. What are pros and cons of using emerald as engagement ring? I figured a forum is the best place for me to find public opinion:-) Here is one I found online. Emeralds are a beautiful choice for an engagement ring. A little extra care may just have to be taken to take care of the stone. Make sure that the emerald that you are purchasing is real and not simulated. The price you pay should have a lot to do with the color of the stone, and from the picture it looks more turquoise in color than green. If you get a loose stone, ask the jeweler to pay extra attention to the setting that it is being placed into because it is more fragile than a diamond, so corners of the stone may break easier.

Emerald is a nice choice!! But round and princess are the best! Both have a lot of fire and brilliance!

Hi,
Yes off course Emeralds are the good one but still this is a type of one gemstone which should wear according to the zodiac sign or may it will effect bad n both of you...so if you are going to choose some engagement ring Engagement Rings because they are the best ring to use on these type of occasion.
