My dilemma is this:  I was just sure when I set with my bride-to-be looking for rings that I would come back home afterward and find the same one online for thousands less.  So far, I have not.

She is in love with a three stone setting with the center one encircled with about 15 smaller diamonds and about 3 more small diamonds on each side of the three stone stone setting, for a total of 22 diamonds at about 2 carats.  Plus, the three main stones are cushion cut (square).  It's the radiant star from Helzberg.  I would like to find a VERY SIMILAR setting somewhere.

The other thing I am toiling with is that the three main diamonds have 145 facets each. Is that something that adds value and brilliance?  Or is that just a sales ploy?  Anyone know if that's something that you can easily find online?

Any ideas on where to find or customize this somewhat rare ring setting cheaper than a retailer???  Again, it's a three stone (cushion-square), encircled main diamond, and paved with 3 on each side of the main 3.

I wanted to use Blue Nile, but they just didn't have the setting she likes and even if I find the setting, how important will it be to find the three-stones with 145 facets?

She just had to choose the only engagement setting

About the facets, I don't have any real industry-based advice but I think of it this way... when you or your future fiance is showcasing the ring (and you will ), will anyone be impressed by the fact that each diamond has 145 facets? I'm guessing probably not.

Similar to hearts and arrows, it sounds fantastic on paper but doesn't really hold any weight once the stone is set.

In terms of setting, if you can get a picture of it you can probably have it custom replicated for you

Good luck!
